Big Boy Bike

Campbell is getting bigger every day, and I can't say I like it too much.  He informed me the other day that when he turns 5 he won't be my baby anymore.  "Oh yes you will," I promptly replied.  But he persists that no, when he is 5, he won't be my baby.

This reality becomes clearer and clearer every day, but especially now that he has experienced this latest right of passage--a big boy bike.  We since the beginning of spring, we've been riding down to the cul de sac at the end of the street to play with our buddies and enjoy the non-sloping and less crowded road.  He'd been riding a tricycle that my parents gave him for Christmas the year before Andrew was born.  He would struggle to keep moving all the while the tricycle was squeaking and squealing, and I noticed that his legs were sort of bent and this knees were a little too close to his ears.

So, we tried out Taylor's big kid bike (complete with princesses and all) and it was clear, the kid needed a bike.  So, off to Walmart we went.  He was so excited that we let him ride it through the store to the check out.  We took a picture of that with David's phone, but I've got no clue how to get that picture on here.  He thought he was the coolest kid in the whole world!  And since we couldn't leave Andrew out, we bought him a big ball to bounce and kick.  This might not seem like much, but I promise you that the child could not have loved anything more!

So here are a few pictures of the first time out on the big boy bike.  He really loves it, and we take a ride nearly every day.  I can't believe how quickly he is growing, but I will continue to insist that no matter how big he gets, he will always be my baby!

Easter

Yes, I know that I have been quite remiss in updating my blog.  I could bore you with the details of why, but I'll just say that I'll try to do better.   These are some of my favorite pictures from our Easter Eggstravaganza!!  In case you haven't noticed, with two big families, every holiday is an extravaganza around here.Hunting eggs in Kentucky with David's dad's family.
